Mrs. Yawn’s philosophy is that all children deserve a fair and equal chance at an education. She states, “My students deserve the same education as the rest, but I have to know my students' personalities and teach them in ways they respond to best. I like to focus on their strengths and tweak my teaching to reach every student and make sure I meet their needs. Even on a bad day, my students know they are safe and loved in my four walls. I try my best to give each of my students the materials and knowledge to have a bright, successful future.”
The administrators at South Dodge commend Mrs. Yawn for her unwavering commitment and dedication to excellence in education. They stated collectively that “Mrs. Yawn is an absolutely fantastic teacher who strives to make a positive difference in the lives of her students, and she is very deserving of this honor.”
